History
1931 — foundation of the Research and Development Office (RDO), reformed in 1933 to Design Bureau (DB) headed by Glavarmalit.
1945 — Central Valve Design Bureau (CKBA) was established on the base of DB in compliance with decree of the Council of people’s commissar.
1946 — CKBA starts engineering developments of valves for the nuclear cycle objects — nuclear materials recycling, research and development reactors, industrial reactors, as well as benches. Valves for the first nuclear reactor was developed and manufactured.
1951 — valves of pressure 2000 atm was developed for chemical industry. For the first time stainless steel gate valves were developed for oil industry and they were rated to 64 atm.
1956 — the start of NPP construction urged CKBA to develop the whole valve range for «active» coolant circuits: BOR and BN-600, RBMK, BBER-400 and VVER-100 reactors.
1958-1965 — CKBA become the designer of valves for the secondary coolant circuit of nuclear power units of NPP, ships, navy, including nuclear submarines. Since then all nuclear submarines, nuclear ice breakers and above water navy ships of the former USSR, Russian Federation and CIS, as well as all the main NPP systems of Russia, CIS, including NPP constructed by Russia abroad are fitted with valves manufactured on the base of CKBA design documentation. These years CKBA develops and manufactures valves for refueling complexes of missile launchers of ground and mining types, assists in tight disc-type valves manufacture mastering, develops over 1100 valve dimension types for the constructing NPP, research reactors and test benches.
1973-1978 — pipeline valves for cryogenics are developed and supplied.
1977 — functions of the basic organization on standardization in valve industry were assigned to CKBA.
1986 — CKBA — head organization on state tests of the main important valve types, as well as is the basic organization in nuclear valve industry.
1991-1998 — works in development of the new valve dimension types, valve expertise and inspection, reasonable prolongation of valves’ service life for different industries, these activities are actual today too.
2000 — resumption of nuclear units construction, uppermost abroad, CKBA took an active part as the head design and expertise bureau in such projects as Tianwan NPP.
2001 — military representation 1024 was accredited in CKBA according to the Regulation issued by the General Staff of Ministry of defense.
2004 and till today — CKBA is the manufacturer and supplier of the wide range of different valves for constructing NPP both abroad, and in Russia. At the same time CKBA supplies special and general purpose industrial valves for oil and gas production, chemical and other industries, as well as navy and Federal Special Construction agency objects.
